Jul 1, 2021 · January 2001: Abdul Rauf alias Daud Merchant, one of the assassins, was arrested from Kolkata. June 2001: Trial in Gulshan Kumar's murder case began. April 2002: 18 of the 26 accused were acquitted. Abdul Rauf was found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment. July 1, 2021: The Bombay High Court upheld Abdul Rauf's conviction. Rashid Merchant, brother of Rauf, who was acquitted by the lower court, has also been sentenced to life.
August 12, 1997: Gulshan Kumar, owner of T-Series, is shot dead when coming out of a temple at Jeet Nagar in Juhu. Three assailants had pumped in 16 bullets, killing him on the spot.
Jul 1, 2021 · The Bombay High Court announced its verdict on the Gulshan Kumar murder case on Thursday. Former music moghul Gulshan Kumar was shot dead in Juhu, Mumbai on August 12 in 1997. At the time, a few people were arrested and the Sessions Judge at the time, ML Tahilyani, had given a sentence of life imprisonment to Abdul Rauf aka Daud Merchant in 2002 of April.
Gulshan Kumar Dua (5 May 1951 – 12 August 1997), was an Indian film and music producer and businessman who was the founder of the Super Cassettes Industries Limited (T-Series) music label in the Bollywood industry. After founding T-Series in 1983, Dua established it as a leading record label in the 1990s. After his death, T-Series has since been run by his younger brother Krishan Kumar and son Bhushan Kumar. His daughters Tulsi Kumar and Khushalii Kumar are also playback singers.

Jul 1, 2021 · August 12, 1997: Gulshan Kumar, the owner of the T-Series and a Bollywood film producer, shot dead outside a temple in Mumbai’s Juhu area. Three gunmen fired 16 rounds at Kumar, leading to injuries that resulted in his immediate death. August 30, 1997: Music composer Nadeem Akhtar Saifee was named a co-conspirator in the sensational murder case for allegedly hiring the gunmen. Ever since he has been staying in the United Kingdom and has been acquitted in the case.
Jul 1, 2021 · Gulshan Kumar was brutally murdered in broad daylight. Music director Nadeem Akhtar Saifee (of Nadeem-Shravan fame) and Taurani were accused in the case. Taurani was charged of allegedly conspiring with Saifee by hiring Dubai mafioso Abu Salem to carry out the murder. He was also charged for paying Nadeem a sum of Rs 2.5 million to carry out the execution.
