Fleet Farm could ship orders from distant warehouses straight to Midwest doorsteps, but we believe serving communities requires physical stores providing jobs and fueling economic activity. Local clerks and stockers live on the same streets as customers so our success directly improves the wellbeing of the whole region. We purposefully expand by building new stores in underserved rural areas then staff over 150 positions per location with mostly hometown talent.

Our History. Fleet Farm was founded in 1955 when Adolph Herzberg opened the first Fleet Wholesale Supply store in downtown Appleton, Wisconsin. Seeing a need for convenient farm supply shopping in rural areas, Herzberg focused on offering veterinary medicines, work clothing, fencing and animal feed stocked in a simple downtown retail space.
