In ambito cinematografico, Zavattini (con all'attivo più di 60 film) è annoverato tra le figure più rilevanti del neorealismo italiano , di cui fu anche un teorico.
Cesare Zavattini (1902-1989) was a writer and director of Italian cinema, known for Bicycle Thieves, Umberto D. and other films. He was nominated for three Oscars and won nine awards, and was a member of the Cannes Film Festival jury in 1958.
