Bharathidasan (IPA: / ˈ b ɑː ˌ r ʌ ð i ˈ ð ɑː ˌ s ʌ n /; born K. Subburathinam 29 April 1891 – 21 April 1964), was a 20th-century Tamil poet and rationalist writer whose literary works handled mostly socio-political issues.
பாரதிதாசன் (Bharathidasan, 29 ஏப்ரல் 1891 – 21 ஏப்ரல் 1964) பாண்டிச்சேரியில் (புதுச்சேரியில்) பிறந்து, பெரும் புகழ் படைத்த பாவலர் ஆவார்.
Bharathidasan University established in February 1982 was named after the great revolutionary Tamil Poet, Bharathidasan (1891-1964). The motto of the University "We will create a brave new world" has been framed from Bharathidasan's poetic words "புதியதோர் உலகம் செய்வோம்" .
பாரதிதாசன் அவர்களின் இயற்பெயர் சுப்புரத்தினம். அவரது தந்தையின் பெயரின் முதல் பாதியை, தன்னுடைய பெயரில் இணைத்து ‘கனகசுப்புரத்தினம்’ என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டார். ஆரம்ப வாழ்க்கையும், கல்வியும். பாரதிதாசன் அவர்கள், தனது இளம் வயதிலிருந்தே தமிழ் மொழி மீது அதீத பற்றுடையவராகத் திகழ்ந்தார்.
