Beau Sia is a Tony Award-winning slam poet. Born to Chinese immigrants from the Philippines in Ohio and raised in Oklahoma City, he moved to New York City for college, earning a BFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
Beau Sia is a Tony Award winning poet and world-renowned performer, featured on Def Poetry and the winner of two National Poetry Slam championships. He is also the author of two poetry books and an educator for youth organizations, and he lives in Los Angeles, where he is working on his first solo play.

Beau Sia is the son of Chinese immigrants from the Philippines. Raised in Oklahoma CIty, he received his BFA in dramatic writing from New York University’s Tisch School of The Arts. While living in New York City, Sia became a member of the 1996 Nuyorican Poets Cafe National Poetry Slam team, which is featured in the award- winning documentary SlamNation (1998).
