Oct 24, 2021 · October 24, 2021. Sarthana Surat Nature Park is also known as Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Zoological Garden. Nature Park Sarathana is situated at the North-East corner of Surat City, which is approachable by Surat Kamrej Road. Prior to 1984, there was no zoo in South Gujarat.
The zoo was established in 1984, the first zoo in South Gujarat region and Gujarat’s breeding center. The zoo has successfully bred lions, royal Bengal tigers, Himalayan bears and white peafowl. Country – India. State – Gujarat. District –Surat. Date opened – 1984. Land area – 81 acres.
Entry ticket is Rs 30 and the BEST PART OF THE ZOO IS THE GOLF CART INSIDE which takes you around at a nominal cost of Rs 50 per head. In summers, this is a big boon and in fact this is the best thing inside. Other wise it is a small zoo but enough forest and one can get a feel of being close to nature.
