Boombats are small, fuzzy creatures that the Stranger uses as live ammo for his crossbow. When launched they will stick to enemies and eventually explode, causing heavy damage. They are first encountered in Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath on the way back through the mines after Stranger's battle with The Looten Duke at the Water Facility.
Boombats can be seen as the natural version of a missile. Their explosions can catch a large group of enemies, and they latch onto whatever enemy they find themselves shot onto.
