A prolific screenwriter, Marx evidently inherited his father Groucho’s wit as he found success scripting films such as The Impossible Years (1968) and Cancel My Reservation (1972) as well as popular sitcoms including My Three Sons (1963-72), McHale’s Navy (1963-64), Mickey (1964-65), Petticoat Junction (1965), Maude (1975) and Alice (1977-81).
