Bjarne Stroustrup (/ ˈ b j ɑːr n ə ˈ s t r ɒ v s t r ʊ p /; Danish: [ˈpjɑːnə ˈstʁʌwˀstʁɔp]; born 30 December 1950) is a Danish computer scientist, known for the development of the C++ programming language.

I'm a professor of Computer Science in Columbia University in New York City.

Jun 26, 2024 · Stroustrup is a managing director in the technology division of Morgan Stanley in New York City, a visiting professor at Columbia University, and a Distinguished Research Professor at Texas A&M University (where he taught for a decade).
Dr. Stroustrup took an active role in the creation of the ANSI/ISO standard for C++ and continues to work on the maintenance and revision of that standard. In 2004 he was elected to the National Academy of Engineering “for the creation of the C++ programming language.”
