The Center for Early Education was founded in 1939 by a group of professional psychoanalysts who were interested in respecting the inner world of children. [2] Since then the school has become regarded as one of the top elementary schools in the nation. It has been noted for a high "feeder" rate into Harvard-Westlake School.
The Center for Early Education (CEE) is an independent, co‑ed, day school located in West Hollywood, California. CEE began in 1939 when a group of professional psychoanalysts started a playgroup for their young children at a home in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, known as The School for Nursery Years.
The Early Childhood Program at CEE provides the stepping stones for early learning, cultivating curiosity, exploration and discovery. Framed in a developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum, children are guided in the process of developing language, social skills, motor skills, and building the foundations of social-emotional intelligence.
