Amar Singh (27 January 1956 – 1 August 2020) was an Indian politician from the state of Uttar Pradesh. [2] [3] He was the general secretary of the Samajwadi Party and was a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian parliament.
Born on January 27, 1956, Amar Singh was first elected to Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh in 1996. He was re-elected to the Rajya Sabha in June 2003 and elected again in 2016 from Uttar Pradesh. Over his decades-long political career, Amar Singh was part of a number of parliamentary committees.
