Nirbhay Sharma PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM is the former Governor of Mizoram and former Governor of Arunachal Pradesh. Born in Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) in 1946, he is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and was commissioned in the 2nd Battalion of the Parachute Regiment in 1966.

May 26, 2015 · Lt General (Retd) Nirbhay Sharma has sworn-in as the 17th governor of Mizoram. Justice T Vaiphei, judge of the Gauhati High Court administered him the oath of office as per provisions of Article 159 of Indian Constitution. Mr. Sharma will succeed West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi who was given additional charge of Mizoram in April 2015.
