A család Gyergyószárhegyen élt, de szobafestő édesapja éppen Bukarestben dolgozott, amikor várandós felesége meglátogatta, így végül ott született meg a fiuk.

Koós was born in Bucharest, Romania. He played for the Wind Band of the National Tax and Customs Administration between 1957 and 1960.
János Koós was born on 21 November 1937 in Lazarea, Romania. He was an actor, known for A miniszter félrelép (1997), Apám beájulna (2003) and Nem ér a nevem (1961). He was married to Sarolta Dékány. He died on 2 March 2019 in Budapest, Hungary.
