Since he himself was a composer-cum-arranger-cum-singer, he knew when and where to use a particular instrument to create a lasting effect. To quote Urdu poet Riyaz Khairabadi, Meri aawaaz ko darkaar hai sahi saaz ki (My voice needs a proper instrument). That’s the reason, his compositions never had instrumental noise.
