Feb 3, 2023 · After initial drummer Chris Stewart left in 1968 to go back to school, another Charterhouse alum named John Silver replaced him and played on Genesis's first record, "From Genesis to Revelation." Then he left, and ceded the gig to John Mayhew.
It was released on 23 October 1970 by Charisma Records, and is their last album with original guitarist Anthony Phillips and their only album with drummer John Mayhew. Genesis turned professional in autumn 1969, and began to rehearse intensely and play live shows.
