RatDog is an American rock band. The group began in 1995 as a side project for Grateful Dead guitarist and singer Bob Weir. After the Dead disbanded later that year, RatDog became Weir's primary band. [1] . They performed some Grateful Dead songs, a mixture of covers (including Bob Dylan and Chuck Berry tunes), and some originals. [2] .

Nov 7, 2000 · a seminal show and superior sbd. ratdog was just coming into its own in '99 and '00 simply because this is a REAL band out on the road ALL the time getting tighter and tighter. if i was turning someone on to ratdog, this is a perfect show to give them a taste of the band's range, quality and pure road-earned skill.
Mar 5, 2014 · I haven’t listened to as many full shows as some of the true RatDog scholars out there, but this is one of the very best I’ve listened to so far. The whole band is inspired, and the chief channels psychedelic slush Bob, cowboy Bob, and rockstar Bob at various points in the evening.
