The Oil-Hell Murder (女殺油地獄, Onna goroshi abura no jigoku) is a 1992 Japanese film directed by Hideo Gosha. It was Japan's submission to the 65th Academy Awards for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, but was not accepted as a nominee.
History. "Onna Goroshi Abura no Jigoku" was premiered in the 7th lunar month of 1721 in Ôsaka at the Takemotoza. It was not a hit and quickly went into oblivion. It was adapted for Kabuki for the very first time by Takeshiba Manji in October 1907 at the Misakiza , where it was staged by a troupe of female Kabuki.
