The Gendarme and the Extra-Terrestrials (French: Le Gendarme et Les Extraterrestres) is a continuation of the Gendarme series starring Louis de Funès. It is also known as The Gendarme and the Creatures from Outer Space and is followed by Le gendarme et les gendarmettes, the final film in the series.

The alien demonstrates its shapeshifting ability by transforming into the same gendarme it is talking to. The gendarme runs and tells Cruchot, who doesn't believe him. In the midst of the racket, the chief comes and sends the gendarme away.

Overview. The bungling inspector Cruchot finds himself trying to save the residents of St. Tropez from some oil-drinking humanoid aliens. The series began with The Troops of St. Tropez (1964) and continued through Gendarme in New York (1965), The Gendarme Gets Married (1968), The Gendarme Takes Off (1970) and subsequent to this, the final film in the series The Gendarme and the Gendarmettes (1982).
