Mirror (Russian: Зеркало, romanized: Zerkalo) [a] is a 1975 Soviet drama film [3] directed by Andrei Tarkovsky. It is loosely autobiographical, unconventionally structured, and incorporates poems composed and read by the director's father, Arseny Tarkovsky.
A nonlinear and dreamlike exploration of war, memory and time, based on the director's own life. The Mirror follows Alexei, a dying man who recalls his childhood, family and wartime experiences through flashbacks and fantasies.
