Nov 1, 2019 · The Fifth Sun is an extraordinarily fine history. It is both well-written and in my opinion easy to read. The author uses a clever literary tool to create a bit of a narrative for each chapter, viewing the time periods through the lens of one or more figures of the time.

Oct 4, 2019 · The royal families intermarried to spread power via marriage and offspring. They raised their boys to be warriors and within a short time took control of the valley. They danced and sang at their festivals and sacrificed prisoners to appease their gods. The Fifth Sun had risen. For me the next hundred years after the conquest that was enlightening.
