Alors qu'un mystérieux voleur sévit à Paris, redistribuant aux pauvres l'argent dérobé aux riches, Paul filme malgré tout, se confrontant aux difficultés de la création. Le film est en partie chanté par les comédiens eux-mêmes.
On pourrait demander à Vecchiali, le plus grand spécialiste au monde de Danielle Darrieux, celui qui n'a jamais cessé de l'aimer, envers et contre tout, mais on n'ose pas. Paul Vecchiali est triste.
