Daenerys Targaryen (/ d ə ˈ n ɛər ɪ s t ɑːr ˈ ɡ ɛər i ə n / də-NAIR-iss tar-GAIR-ee-ən) is a fictional character in the series of epic fantasy novels A Song of Ice and Fire by American author George R. R. Martin. She is a prominent point-of-view character, and is one of the series' most popular characters.
Queen Daenerys I Targaryen, also known as Daenerys Stormborn, and affectionately known as Dany, was the only daughter of King Aerys II Targaryen and Queen Rhaella, and the younger sister of Rhaegar and Viserys Targaryen.
