    Seiji Hisamatsu (久松 静児, Hisamatsu Seiji, February 20, 1912; Ibaraki, Japan – December 28, 1990; Tokyo {age 78} ) was a Japanese film director. He directed 101 films between 1934 and 1965.

    Hisamatsu joined the Kawai Film Production Company and transferred to Shinko Kinema, promoted to director in 1934 after his first film debut "Shinpan fufu dokuhon". The staff who participated in the works of Tokyo's emerging period include Kaneto Shindo, who was an movie director at the time, and Ichiro Saito, a music composer who would later form a long combination of songs.

    Hisamatsu played an active role in Daiei from the war to the post-war period, and established his own style with "the people of the Ataka family". It later became success, and after he directed Shintoho's 1954 film "Onna no Koyomi", the movie was awarded at the 1955 Cannes International Film Festival the year after its release in Japan, and later it was shown in Europe. After directing "Keisatsu Nikki" with Hisaya Morishige which became a big hit, he was in charge of the 2nd to 6th projects in many comedy films such as the "Ekimae Series", starring Hisaya Morishige, Junzaburō Ban and Frankie Sakai.
