BC Hydro was created in 1961 when the government of British Columbia, under Premier W. A. C. Bennett, passed the BC Hydro Act. This act led to the expropriation of the BC Electric Company and its merging with the BC Power Commission, to create the British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (BCHPA).
Understanding payments. If your account is up to date you'll see what you owe and when it's due. This section also indicates what's due immediately for overdue accounts, as well as current charges. If you've selected auto-pay for your payments we'll let you know the amount due, and when it'll be withdrawn.
Viewing your bill online. We'll send you an email when your bill is ready. In the meantime, you'll be able to see your previous bills, payment history, and electricity use. When you view your account online, your balance and the due date of your current bill is displayed automatically.
You'll need to call Customer Service to: Change your mailing address for your bill. Get your electrical service reconnected if it's been disconnected for missed payments. Request a payment arrangement for your bill.
