CFM International is a Franco-American aircraft engine manufacturer. The company is a joint venture between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines (formerly known as Snecma) and is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was founded in 1974 to build and support the CFM56 series of turbofan engines.

CFM International is a global leader in aircraft propulsion, developing and producing the CFM56 and LEAP engines. It also offers comprehensive support services and has a long-term partnership with Safran Aircraft Engines and GE.
The CFM RISE program will be the first to introduce hybrid electric technologies for single-aisle propulsion systems. Engine performance will be optimized by providing additional electric thrust, while also generating electricity both for itself as well as for the aircraft.
The CFM International RISE ("Revolutionary Innovation for Sustainable Engines") is an open rotor engine currently under development by CFM International, a 50–50 joint venture between American GE Aerospace and French Safran Aircraft Engines.
