Grossmont College is a public community college in El Cajon, California. Its name originated with the silent film actor and producer William J. Gross, who was enticed by Ed Fletcher to invest in the purchase of land, part of which was called Grossmont.
Grossmont College provides opportunities for students to enroll in courses at Grossmont College while they are enrolled in high school. Permission from the high school administrator and parental approval must be obtained prior to filing an application for admission.
Grossmont College is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is a member of the California Community College Association. Accreditation reports are available and may be reviewed in the Office of the President.
