Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), informally KISS University, is a higher education institute deemed-to-be-university located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. It was established in 1993 as a residential tribal school and became a deemed-to-be-university in 2017.
Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) was founded by Prof. Achyuta Samanta in 1992-93 with only 125 poor tribal students. At present, the number of students educated through KISS has touched more than 30,000, out of which nearly seven thousand have gone in for higher education at KISS.
KISS is an NGO and an educational institution that provides free education, accommodation, food and healthcare to over 30,000 indigenous students in Odisha, India. Founded by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, KISS aims to empower 2 million indigenous children through quality comprehensive education and has won several awards and recognition.
