Mehdi Mahdavikia (Persian: مهدی مهدویکیا ⓘ; born 24 July 1977) is an Iranian professional football coach and former player usually played as a right winger or right back. He is currently under contract by Hamburger SV as a youth coach, [8] and also manages his own youth academy, FC KIA .
Mehdi Mahdavikia played as a right winger for Persepolis, Hamburger SV and Iran national team. He won Asia's Footballer of the Year 2003 and was the uncle of Arshia and Mostafa Mahdavikia, also footballers.
