Ian Hallard. Ian Christopher Hallard (born 9 November 1974) is an English actor and writer. His work includes acting roles on television, at the National Theatre and in the West End, including the lead role of Michael in a revival of Mart Crowley 's The Boys in the Band. He has also written and script edited for both television and stage.

Ian Hallard. Actor and Writer. Biography. Ian was born in Birmingham. He studied English Literature at Sheffield University before commencing drama training at Mountview Theatre School. His acting career has encompassed West End theatre, the National, UK tours, regional productions, and has included musicals, classical theatre and new writing.

May 27, 2023 · Ian Hallard: I’d always thought it seemed to require a colossal amount of confidence, if not arrogance, to say, “There hasn’t been a play that’s sufficiently tackled this one particular topic, and I am uniquely placed to be the person to write this play.” Then I just got over myself, and once I’d decided to try and write something, it was motivated by what I myself wanted to be in.
