Katya Douglas' father was the British writer Arthur Osborne(1906-1970), who grew up in Yorkshire; her mother Ludka Lipszyc (1904–1987), who later called herself Łucja or Lucia Osborne, came from the Polish part of Silesia. Katya Douglas had two siblings: Adam(1939-2003) and Frania (* 1942). Her brother Adam Osborne became known as a software developerin the 1980s and is considered to be the pioneer of the laptop.
