Ching Miao, Jinan, Shandong origin, was born in 1913. He enrolled in the Xinhwa Professional School of Arts in Shanghai to study commercial designs in 1933. He returned to his hometown of Jinan from Shanghai and formed a theatrical troupe to perform patriotic titles during the Sino-Japanese War.
