Ray Collins (1889-1965) was an American actor who worked with Orson Welles and appeared in Citizen Kane, Touch of Evil and Perry Mason. He also played Lt. Arthur Tragg in the long-running series Perry Mason (1957-1966).

Producers insisted his name remain in the title sequence because he still watched the show every week. Ray Collins died on July 11th, 1965 of emphysema in Santa Monica, California at the age of 75.
