Dzieciństwo wraz z rodzeństwem spędziła w majątku rodziców w Mysłowie, w powiecie łukowskim. W pierwszych dniach II wojny światowej w czasie bombardowania zginął jej kilkumiesięczny brat, Tadeusz [1].
