Biography of Victor Wong. Victor Wong was born in 1927 in San Francisco, California, to Chinese immigrant parents. His father was a journalist in Shanghai before immigrating to the United States. Inspired by his father's love for journalism, Wong decided to pursue a career in the field and enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley.
