Aleksei Yuryevich German (Russian: Алексей Юрьевич Герман, IPA: [ɐlʲɪkˈsʲej ˈjʉrʲjɪvʲɪdʑ ˈɡʲermən]; 20 July 1938 – 21 February 2013) was a Russian film director and screenwriter.
Aleksey German was born on 20 July 1938 in Leningrad, Russian SFSR, USSR [now St. Petersburg, Russia]. He was an actor and writer, known for Khrustalyov, My Car! (1998), Hard to Be a God (2013) and Moy drug Ivan Lapshin (1985).
