जीवन परिचय. मूळ नाव दत्तात्रय अंबादास मायाळू, चित्रपटासाठीचे नाव राजदत्त. चित्रपट क्षेत्रातील त्यांचे गुरू राजा परांजपे यांच्या नावातील 'राज 'आणि स्वतःच्या नावातील 'दत्ता' घेऊन राजदत्त झाले . अमरावती जिल्ह्यातील धामणंगाव इथे त्यांचा जन्म झाला. वर्धा येथे जी.एस. कॉलेज ऑफ कॉमर्स मध्ये बी. कॉम. पर्यंत शिक्षण घेतले.

Dattatray Ambadas Mayalu (1932), known as Rajdutt, is an Indian director and producer in the Marathi and Hindi film industries. He directed his first film Madhuchandra in 1967.

Pune, 4th March 2023: Well-known director Rajdutt was honoured by MIT World Peace University founder Dr Vishwanath Karad at a special program titled ‘Sanman Chitratapasavicha’ at Yashwantrao Chavan auditorium in Kothrud today.
