Wild Things Run Fast is the 11th studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell. Her first of four releases for Geffen Records, it was released in 1982 and represents her move to a more 1980s pop sound. This was her first album to work with bassist Larry Klein, whom she married in 1982.

Joni Mitchell's Wild Things Run Fast. by Sam Sutherland. High Fidelity. January 1983. Previews of Joni Mitchell's first album for Geffen Records hinted at a return to the rhapsodic bloom of 1974's "Court and Spark," her most popular recording to date.
And that was only because Wild Things Run Fast included vocal contributions by Lionel Ritchie - who, at the time of the release, praised Mitchell. Additionally, the album featured significant contributions from guitarists Michael Landau, Steve Lukather and drummer Vinnie Colaiuta.
Landau cites influences including the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Cream, the Band, Weather Report, Pat Martino, and Jaco Pastorius. [2] Landau has a signature single coil guitar pickup with Suhr Guitars called the 'ML.'.
