Yash Johar (6 September 1929 – 26 June 2004) was an Indian film producer and the founder of Dharma Productions. His films featured lavish sets, were often set in "exotic" locations, and incorporated Indian traditions and family values. He was the father of Karan Johar, now a noted filmmaker himself.
Yash Johar (1929-2004) was a prominent figure in the Indian film industry, known for producing and acting in popular movies such as Kal Ho Naa Ho, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He was the father of director Karan Johar and died of acute chest congestion in 2004.
