Ole Kirk Christiansen (born Ole Kirk Kristiansen; 7 April 1891 – 11 March 1958) was a Danish carpenter. In 1932, he founded the construction toy company Lego, later known as The Lego Group. Christiansen transformed his small woodworking shop, which initially sold household products, into a manufacturer of wooden toys.

Ole Kirk Kristiansen is born April 7, 1891. His birthplace is Omvraa Mark in Filskov parish 20 kilometers northwest of Billund. He has 12 siblings, and in his memoirs Ole Kirk later recalls his childhood home: “We grew up – all of us – in a modest home but a good home, trusting in the mercy of God.”
