James Denton (born January 20, 1963) is an American film and television actor. He is best known for playing Mike Delfino on ABC 's comedy drama series Desperate Housewives (2004–2012) and Dr. Sam Radford on Hallmark Channel 's fantasy comedy drama series Good Witch (2015–2021).
His fans didn't have to wait long to hear from him again. In 2013 JD took on the role of Johnny Trey in "Grace Unplugged" and in short order won an award for Outstanding Performance by an Actor. The film won a Top Ten Family Film of the Year and the Grand Prize, "The Epiphany Award" for Most Inspirational Film of 2013.
