The only opera composed by France’s foremost violinist of the period, Jean-Marie Leclair (1697–1764), Scylla et Glaucus tells the story of the unanticipated love triangle that develops when Glaucus seeks to win the affection of the sea nymph Scylla by enlisting the powers of the sorceress Circe.
