Vikram Chandra (born 23 July 1961) is an Indian-American writer. His first novel, Red Earth and Pouring Rain, won the 1996 Commonwealth Writers' Prize for Best First Book.

A novel, Sacred Games, was published in 2006 by Penguin/India in India; and by Faber and Faber in the UK. It will be published in January 2007 in the United States by HarperCollins. In June 1997, Vikram was featured in the New Yorker photograph of "India's leading novelists."
His most recent novel is Sacred Games (2006), set in present day Mumbai. A non-fiction work about the culture of computer programming and classical Indian aesthetics was published in 2013 by Penguin India as Mirrored Mind: My Life in Letters and Code; and in 2014 by Faber & Faber as Geek Sublime: Writing Fiction, Coding Software.
A 900-page novel, Sacred Games, was published in 2006 in India and the UK, and in the USA in early 2007. He is also the co-writer of the Bollywood movie Mission Kashmir, released in late October, 2000, and has been a news anchor on Indian TV, a computer programmer and consultant.
