Apr 27, 2021 · Following his feature debut in 2015 with Live, Romanian director and producer Vlad Păunescu goes back three decades in his country’s history with sophomore feature The Ladder. The film is being staged by Păunescu’s Castel Film, with Miruna Gheorghiu serving as executive producer.
BUCHAREST: Director/producer and Castel Film Studios’s CEO Vlad Păunescu has completed filming on his sophomore feature The Ladder / Scara, which shot in September and October 2019. The account of Romania in the turbulent years 1989-1990 is supported by the Romanian Film Centre.
Vlad Păunescu, one of the biggest film producers in Romania, with over 100 international films under his belt, founded the first professional film studio in Romania, in 1992: Castel Film Studios. He won numerous national and international awards.
