Julian Tuwim (13 September 1894 – 27 December 1953), known also under the pseudonym Oldlen as a lyricist, was a Polish poet, born in Łódź, then part of the Russian Partition. He was educated in Łódź and in Warsaw where he studied law and philosophy at Warsaw University .

He returned to Poland in 1946 and settled in Warsaw. He conducted literary, translation and editorial work. He published his works in Kuźnica(1945-1946), Odrodzenie(1945-1949), Przekrój(1945-1953), Szpilki(1946-1953). He was the artistic director of the Nowy Theatre from 1948 to 1949, and its literary manager in 1951.
