Zeva Oelbaum was born and raised in Kansas City, Mo. and is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and still photographer. Her work has been supported by numerous grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the New York State Council on the Arts, Women in Film Finishing Fund and the Polaroid Corporation, among others.
FILMS. Oelbaum founded Reel Inheritance Films in 2008 and produced the feature length documentary Ahead of Time, about the trailblazing journalist Ruth Gruber. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and won 6 Best Documentary awards before being broadcast on Showtime.

May 22, 2020 · Recently, I sat down (virtually) to hear a bit more about my wonderfully talented friend, Zeva Oelbaum's new project. May years back, Zeva and I collaborated on a textile line for Pallas using some of Zeva’s gorgeous cyanotypes as inspiration for weaves and pattern.
