Hoyt Stoddard Curtin (September 9, 1922 – December 3, 2000) was an American composer and music producer, the primary musical director for the Hanna-Barbera animation studio from its beginnings with The Ruff & Reddy Show in 1957 until his retirement in 1986, except from 1965 to 1972, when the primary music director was Ted Nichols.
Hoyt Curtin (1922-2000) was a prolific composer and musical director for cartoons, TV shows and movies. He created the themes for The Flintstones, The Jetsons, The Smurfs and many others.

Hoyt Curtin was born in Downey, California, but grew up in San Bernadino. He began playing the piano when he was 5, and by ninth grade, he had his own orchestra. He graduated from the San Bernadino High School in 1940 and the University of Southern California in 1943.
