Nov 25, 2001 · MUMBAI: Noted film maker N.C. Sippy died after a protracted illness at a private hospital here on Sunday morning. The 75-year-old producer, who was not well for the past six months, is survived by two sons, director Raj Sippy and producer Ramu Sippy, and a daughter.

N. C. Sippy was an Indian producer, director, presenter born on 22 August 1926. He was the father of Raj N Sippy and Romu N Sippy. His famous films as a producer include Golmaal (1979), Satte Pe Satta (1982), Chupke Chupke (1975), Anand (1971) and Bombay To Goa (1972).
N.C. Sippy carved out a place in Hindi cinema with his family melodramas and in the process delivered some of the most memorable films of the 60’s and 70’s. Beginning as an executive producer in Aas (1953), he soon went on to make films with the likes of Bharat Bhooshan in Sawan (1959) and Raj Kapoor in Diwana (1967).
