Robert Davidson (18 April 1804 – 16 November 1894) [1] was a Scottish inventor who built the first known electric locomotive in 1837. He was a lifelong resident of Aberdeen, northeast Scotland, where he was a prosperous chemist and dyer, amongst other ventures.
Robert Charles Davidson OC OBC RCA (born 4 November 1946), is a Canadian artist of Haida heritage. Davidson's Haida name is G̲uud San Glans, which means "Eagle of the Dawn". He is a leading figure in the renaissance of Haida art and culture. He lives in White Rock, British Columbia. [1]

Robert Davidson is a renowned Haida artist who has been carving and promoting Haida culture for over fifty years. He is the great-grandson of Charles Edenshaw, a founding member of the Rainbow Creek Dancers and the Haida Gwaii Singers Society, and a recipient of many honours and awards.
