Günther "Jim" Rakete (German: [dʒɪm ʁakeːtə]; born 1 January 1951) is a German photographer, photojournalist, filmmaker, writer and producer based in Berlin. [1] Rakete shot numerous personalities from the German and international music and film scene and politics.
Jim Rakete ist ein deutscher Fotograf, Fotojournalist und Dokumentarfilmer. Bekannt wurde Rakete durch seine meist in Schwarz-Weiß gehaltenen Porträtfotografien von Prominenten.
Film, theatre and music remain Rakete’s passion. He photographs big brands and big stars, receives international commissions and in the meantime also works in Los Angeles and Hamburg. His pictures of Jimi Hendrix, Ray Charles, Mick Jagger, David Bowie and Herbert Grönemeyer have become icons.
