Jean Chauvel, né le 16 avril 1897 à Paris et mort dans la même ville le 31 mai 1979 [1], est un diplomate et poète français, d'un père longtemps chirurgien à Quimper dans le Finistère et ami notamment de Louis-René des Forêts.
